basically, phoebe finds out she’s really 31 on what was supposed to be her 30th birthday and she’s freaking out because she has this list of things she wants to accomplish before each age. she complains that she wanted to have the perfect kiss among other things before she turns 31 and since she lost that year (thinking she was still 30), she hasn’t accomplished it in time. her friends try to console her, but she says that she wants to be alone and leaves. after she’s out, joey says he’s going to walk her home and runs out after her. he stops her in the street and tells her to close her eyes and then gives her the most perfect kiss ever and smiles, saying, “that’s one thing you can cross off your list.”
